Designed primarily for use in the public transport sector at bus stops and railway stations where power supply can be is an issue, Nexus Alpha LPS low power demand signage has been leading the field for many years, setting new benchmarks. Our core CHRONOS range has been installed by many clients over the years, and our new SOLARIS range combines solar lighting with real-time information display and audio announcements.

Designed primarily for bus stops, CHRONOS Flag can be solar powered to reduce installation and running costs. Design is compact and lightweight.

The standard multi-line format features three lines plus a clock, but the layout is flexible and extensible. CHRONOS Shelter supports destinations, calling patterns, expected and due times, and flexible messaging.

Remote Location? No problem.

CHRONOS Flag features a compact and lightweight design and can be mains, or solar powered.
The standard format shows four services with scrolling calling patterns - alternative layouts are available. Messages can be targeted for display on individual or groups of signs, and all units feature a real-time clock. Nexus Alpha LPS extruded ATLAS columns can be provided, or the units fitted to the client’s preferred posts.

Always Online

CHRONOS signs share the advanced features of all Nexus Alpha LPS hardware. Even when solar powered, systems are always on and not in sleep mode. They are connected 24/7.

Constant Monitoring

As well as continually monitoring the performance of the CHRONOS Flag, HERMES UltraLite, the computer at the heart of all of our ultra low power systems, supports connections to other equipment such as sensors. Think of our displays not as just displays but as remote, 24/7 connected computers forming part of an extended data network for information display and data capture.

No Local Power? No problem.

The energy reaching Earth every day from the sun is approximately 11,000 times more than that generated by our all planetary power stations (be they nuclear, gas, coal, or renewables-based). Harnessing this free energy and providing local power for signage saves money and eliminates the consequential CO2 emissions that happen as a result of using electricity from the existing UK power mix.

Solar Panel Flexibility

Using flexible solar panels on the top of the shelter is convenient and provides a cost-effective mounting arrangement, also reducing visual impact.

Alternatively, panels and mounting arrangements can be provided customised to site conditions, reducing costs whilst making a public statement around sustainability through the use of solar.

Power Storage

Nexus Alpha LPS has over a decade of experience with low power technology and has developed advanced electronics and software to optimize power capture and storage for remote off grid systems.
Historically our systems have been lead-acid based, but with the improvements in lithium-based cells along with reducing costs we are shifting to lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) and lithium titanate oxide (LTO) batteries. Our systems supply the perfect combination, highly efficient down to temperatures other technologies cannot reach, we can adapt systems to site characteristics: system load, solar potential, use, etc.

Nexus Alpha LPS has been developing class-leading hardware with astonishingly low power demand and minimal compromise for over 10 years. Our goal is to always push the boundaries of what’s possible using the latest technologies whilst always keeping flexibility and accessibility (DDA compliance with the Disability Act) at the heart of what we do. As well as our more traditional LCD based products, we have developed a wider range of highly versatile, ultra low power hardware that has been proven to operate reliably in the harshest of UK conditions – with systems running 24/7 in the North of Scotland using only solar power. With the best British design and engineering, and working with international partners, we focus on only the highest quality offerings so that you can be sure your products will last for many years to come.
